Why We Started Massimo DBR?
We recognized the need for better value in the high-end market; the existing high-end homes weren’t designed with purpose, weren’t built to last, and weren’t being offered at a reasonable price. Even the parade homes had significant issues that the general public wouldn’t know to look for.

Massimo’s Founder, George Evagorou, was astounded that clients were accepting these homes and disheartened that building companies were lettingthem. He realized the market for truly well-built, generously-designed homes was hot. It was just a matter of educating buyers on what architecturally and structurally-excellent homes looked like.

Massimo Lifestyle Analysis
Many architects & builders aspire to design your home to fit your life. At MDB, it’s more than an aspiration. It’s a science. Our unique process guides you through a series of questions which bring out information that you probably never thought of or maybe never thought to mention to anyone. This information, then, allows us to build a home around every aspect of how you’ll live in your new home. It is a significantly more in-depth process than most, going well beyond style and paint colors.

We also look at the shape and topography of the site to maximize views, account for slope and maximize space and natural features. We consider the sun and wind direction, especially during the most relevant months of the year. We also analyze how the outdoor and indoor can best be blended to give the family the most quality time together while still working for those dinner parties and extended family gatherings. We like to say that it’s a puzzle that has many pieces, and all of them have to be discovered and considered to form the perfect finished design.

The process starts with an interactive interview in which Massimo asks detailed questions, and then carefully listens to what you say. We drill down and ask more questions when needed so that we can really understand your goals and ideas, not just from a perspective of “what” you want but also from a perspective of why you want it. Only then can we evaluate each answer to determine the scope, priority, and best way to achieve your objectives for the spaces in the home.

We make sure you get what’s most important to you, while staying true to the style of the home and, of course, your budget. Finally, we prepare a Character Study, or rendering and floor plan of your home, with a detailed cost breakdown.

Ad Hoc Design Teams
We form an ad-hoc Design-Build team by hiring independent designers, subcontractors, builders whose skills match the client’s needs, location and budget. On a small project, that might be a draftsperson. On a large remodel, we might team up with a more experienced designer or a licensed architect.

We can be more diverse. Depending on the project, we can select a designer that has a historic preservation background or one who’s more into modern design. Rather than having an employee who wears all those hats, we can partner with folks who are skilled in specific areas.
Exceptional Design & Finish-out
There is a warm feeling that defines a Massimo Home. A completeness to the look of the home that is the result of Massimo’ focus on the design details. Massimo Custom Homes incorporates more finish-out elements into their homes than other builders can provide at anywhere near the price. In many cases we hand draw and develop the details ourselves from wrought-iron accents on cabinet doors, to antique corbels and handmade tile mosaics.

We don’t just throw in these elements randomly. We stay true to the style of the home, whether it’s Tuscan, Spanish, Hill Country or Modern. And we make sure your style is reflected in every aspect of your home even the landscape design matches.
Guaranteed Cost Breakdown
Most home builders don’t have the knowledge or resources to provide an accurate and detailed cost breakdown without having complete plans. The problem is, by the time you have a complete set of plans, you’ve already spent a lot of money and time with an Architect. Architects generally don’t maintain an extensive cost database that is current; nor do they need one. In addition, we often find that knowledge of design and construct-ability (which includes cost-effectiveness of design) are two very different things. There could be a savings of tens of thousands of dollars or more by having a knowledgeable home builder at your side from the very beginning of the design process.

Furthermore, Massimo is one of the only custom home builders that guarantee that we will be within +/- 5% on the original design cost. We can do this because we’ve developed a proprietary job costing system that allows us to tell you what your home will cost, in a great amount of detail, even before you have final architectural plans.

We are one of the only home builders that provide a detailed cost estimate with the original design. This gives our customers a Proof of Concept or Feasibility Study on the custom home they want to build to ensure it is within their chosen budget.
Quality Assurance
At MASSIMO DBR, we constantly monitor all of our homes to ensure the highest quality is achieved. Our subcontractors understand the high standards we expect from them and will not settle for anything less than the best. Our team will be on-site daily to guarantee the quality of your new home. We will stop at nothing to ensure your dream home turns out exactly how you envisioned it.

Throughout the construction process, MASSIMO DBR provides a more comprehensive suite of inspections and quality assurance programs than any other builder.
These include our:

Inspections at every major stage of construction (pre-slab pour, electrical and mechanicals, etc.) to validate the quality of the work. We also provide these to the homeowner at the end of the project for peace of mind that every step we took was “by the book.”

Regular walkthroughs with the Construction Manager at each stage of construction where we double and triple check that everything is progressing the way you want it.

Continuous Punch List System that allows us to track each trade and review the punch list at each stage of construction. This eliminates costly errors and rework.
